Hex Tile Compatibility
Glowrune hex tiles use standard hex game tile dimensions. They slot directly into popular hex strategy game setups, replace cardboard terrain in hex wargames, and serve as overworld map tiles for tabletop RPGs.

Illumination System
Each of the 19 hex tiles in the Core Set contains 25 SK6812 RGBW LEDs — spatially distributed for per-zone animation control. Different areas of the same tile can display different colors and animations simultaneously.
Warm amber ripples across the tile face from one side to the other, simulating wind through grain. The dedicated white channel ensures the wheat color reads as warm gold, not muddy orange.
Cool blue-white undulations pulse across the tile, with brighter peaks and darker troughs creating the illusion of light reflecting off moving water. Ocean hex terrain has never looked like this.
Dark granite grey with veins of orange-gold pulsing outward from the tile center, suggesting the heat and pressure of ore deposits. The animation responds to the card draw — spike the pulse when ore is collected.
Connector System
N52 neodymium pogo-pin connectors on every hex edge align tiles mechanically and complete the electrical circuit in a single motion. No plugging. No wiring between tiles. Place a tile and it powers on.
One 12V DC adapter plugs into the controller tile. The controller connects to the Glowrune app over Bluetooth and manages all tiles in the connected grid.
Hex tiles connect across any of their 6 edges. The N52 magnets pull the tiles into perfect alignment and the pogo pins complete the electrical circuit simultaneously — no separate power connections needed.
Drop the UV-printed art layers onto each tile. The 3-point magnetic lock holds them securely. Swap between hex game terrain types, RPG biomes, or any expansion art pack in seconds.
Select animation presets or customize individual LED zones via the Glowrune iOS app. Your hex world comes to life — every tile animated, every biome distinct.

iOS & Android
The Glowrune iOS app connects over Bluetooth and gives you full control over every LED zone on every tile. Choose from curated presets or build your own animations.
Harvest Day, Harvest Night, Storm Rolling In, Harvest Season, Volcanic Event — curated animation scenes designed for specific game moments. Trigger them mid-game without breaking the table flow.
Tap any tile on the app map. Select any LED zone. Set color, brightness, animation speed, and pattern. Save configurations as custom scenes for your regular campaign map.
The Glowrune app launches on iOS with the Kickstarter campaign. Android development begins immediately post-funding. All app updates are free for registered backers.
